Samsung (005930KS) on Friday sent a notice to the media that it plans to unveil a “major” new Galaxy device on August 15th. The South Korea-based vendor’s save-the-date email did not include any additional details, and it did not specify if the new device will be a smartphone or a tablet. Earlier rumors suggested Samsung has plans to unveil the Galaxy Note II, the sequel to its popular supersized Galaxy Note smartphone, in late August. Samsung’s August 15th press conference is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. EST....
